Commander's Palace504ward Restaurant Night at Commander’s Palace. This is our third time hooking up with the legendary restaurant, making us three times as successful a partnership as Jordan Jefferson and any LSU receiver in the National Championship. (Too soon? Too soon. Moving on.) The first two were great, and with a host of new connectors there (and a new menu) this should be even better.

They’re kicking the meal off with Smoked Duck and Oyster Gumbo, which sounds simply delightful. From there the main course is a Skillet Roasted Black Drum, with seven (!) varieties of farmstead vegetables with crushed lemon, liquefied basil and a light brown butter vinaigrette. That’s right. They are liquefying basil. The whole meal is finished off with Pontchatoula Strawberry Shortcake, with the first strawberries of the season. Yes, this dessert is made of the chosen ones of the strawberry world.

It’s going down Wednesday, January 25th at 6:30 pm. We’ve only got a set amount of spots available, so if you want to come, sign up here. We’re giving first shots to people who haven’t attended before, but we’re going to do our best to get everyone in. It’s 30 bucks for 3 courses, and beer and wine are $5. We’ll see you there.
