It’s a New Year in New Orleans. You’ve made your resolutions. Now it’s time for us to make ours.

Number one on our list is ending our infinite stream of 504-related puns around the office. (Our intern dressing up as Abe Lincoln and starting our morning meeting with “504 score and 7 years ago...” was the straw that broke the camel’s back.)

Number two resolution is to do more for you guys. We want to help you connect to this city better, find that perfect job, or help you get that first home.

Kicking off on that resolution is to tell y’all about the Preservation Resource Center’s Historic House Workshop coming up next week. Called “Five Ways to Buy a House,” the event will tell you everything you need to know about owning a home in New Orleans, including some loopholes that will leave your toes tingling. The event is totally free and open to the public—to learn more check out the PRC’s website.

Lastly, we’re pleased to announce that our flagship connection program—504connect—is moving to a rolling admissions process. We’re opening ‘er up, baby!

For those not hip to the times, 504connect is our way to helping turn six degrees of separation into two – New Orleans style. It’s an amazing program to connect new people to the city, and connect you to an established city leader who can answer specific questions about the field they’re passionate about.
